The Documentary

AKWAABA:  The Awakening, is a full feature documentary film chronicling the journey of African Americans from Los Angeles traveling to the Motherland for the first time.

This documentary project began as a wonderful readers theater project performed in Leimert Park at the Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Theater in 2016.

Sybil D. Jatta decided to journal her experience and turned it into a live musical piece, encouraged by her roommate Dolores Ealy-O'Neal.  The audience was so moved by the concept and the awakening of the "Trailblazers" they insisted that a documentary film be made to memorialize the experience.

Champion Club Productions LLC is a company created by husband and wife team Raul and Sybil Jatta. It's purpose is to produce excellence in entertainment around the world.  The company started in the year of "new beginnings".
